What does it take to choose a perfect interpreter?

To begin with, you have to understand exactly what type of interpretation you need. And they are the following:

- simultaneous interpretation. An interpreter is placed in a booth, where the headphones broadcast him the speech and he produces the interpretation into a microphone at the same time. For example,  "I'd like to - Я бы хотел - tell you - сказать вам - about - о том, что...". The difficulty of work is therein you should talk, as a matter of fact, in unison with the speaker. Typically, this type of interpretation is applied at forums, extensive meetings and a variety of conferences;

- consecutive interpretation. In this case, the speaker says a couple of phrases and stops as soon as he exhausted the topic. For instance, after the "I would like to tell you about my new project. It is dedicated to fluid mechanics and its promising development. Now I will tell you in detail". Thus, the audience receives information gently reproduced by the interpreter in consecutive order. It is relevant to not very long speeches and meetings;

- chuchotage. It is used when a large part of the audience understands the speaker's speech perfectly, but there are some people who understand nothing. This is when the task of the interpreter is to sit in the hall among the audience and interpret them the speaker's speech by whispering. The speed is approximately equal to that of a simultaneous interpreter, but it requires obviously less concentration and skills thanks to much more casual atmosphere;

- relay interpretation. It is a very popular type of interpretation! Supposedly, there speaks an Arab. A single interpreter in the hall speaks Arabic and he can only interpret into English. And in the hall there are a lot of residents of various countries! That is why (usually in the mode of consecutive interpretation) a specialist in Arabic interprets the text into English and the interpreters from different countries (which, of course, know English) interpret to their audience into all other languages;

- and finally, linear interpretation. There the interpretation takes place in both directions: for example, at business negotiations where you need to interpret the speeches of both parties. Not all interpreters are capable of it - many understand the language well but speak it not well and fast enough.

It is for you to decide which interpretation type you need. And we will find the professional who is perfectly able to cope with it. All in all, the subject of interpretation plays a role, too.  And if you choose it by yourself, well. We can advise the following. You need a professional with higher specialized education, with work experience in the sphere of a suitable interpretation type, versed in cultural peculiarities of a country, with a language of which he works, and, of course, presentable appearance plays a role, too. Make sure that the interpreter is able to comply with the dress code and does not embarrass people, with whom he will have to work, by these or those features of his appearance.
